Butt Dress Makes Fashion Statement

France’s latest fashion statement has nothing to do with haute couture and a lot to do with saving the streets of the city of Paris from the scourge of cigarette butts.
Paris student Flore Garcia Bour, 22, is picking up butts by the hundred from the streets and stitching them painstakingly into a dress in an effort to draw attention to the smelly detritus degrading the city’s streets.
The international relations graduate says she does not aim to stop smokers lighting up, just to change their behaviour.
“I have always been revolted by the number of butts dropped on our streets while it would be simple to change habits and to put them into a rubbish bin,” she told AFP.
“I hope my dress shocks smokers and plays a role in making them more aware of the damage they do by throwing their butts away that degrade in 18 months at best or 12 years at worst.”
She started stitching the dress on April 26 and plans to finish it on May 15 with cigarette butts collected in jars from all over the city then treated to remove the evil smell.
Her progress can be seen on a blog in French on www.lemegotdefi.com.

April showers bring spring shopping!

When mother nature nurtures us with her thrashing winds and downpour of rain, many turn to shopping. The gloomy weather intrigues everyone to head for the stores like birds flying south. When theres little to do, shopping gives a reason to get out of the house. Instead of falling into this trap, try fighting the urge.
New seasons always call for new clothes right? Wrong. The start of spring should instead bring “spring cleaning.” Anything you have not worn in the past year THROW OUT! If you have not worn the clothing within the year, it’s just taking up space in your closet. Sell these clothes to “Twice is Nice” or donate to the YWCA. As they say, “one mans trash in anothers treasure.”
Just because you have nothing better to do on a rainy day does not mean you should blow your hard earned money on clothes. When days like these come around, clean! While organizing and throwing out your clothes, your mind will wonder from buying new clothes and focus on the necessities.

How to Stuff a Monokini

in bathing suit, bra Tags: Breast, Monokini, Silicone, Swimsuit
Monokinis, also know as slingshot swimsuits, are one-piece bathing suits cut to look like two-pieces. Although monokinis should cover your breasts, you won’t get much coverage — which make them difficult to stuff if you’re small on top.
Things You’ll Need:
- Silicone breast enhancers
- Adhesive
Instructions
-
Wash your breasts thoroughly with soap and warm water. If you have oil or dirt on your skin, the inserts won’t adhere.
-
Dry your breasts thoroughly. Your breasts must be absolutely dry for the inserts to stick. Don’t put any lotion, powders or creams on your breasts.
-
Find a cool, dry room to apply the inserts. Bathrooms are too humid.
-
Remove the inserts from the package very gently and turn one inside out. Add a few drops of adhesive to the side of the insert that will be against your skin. Place the highest point of the insert against your nipple, and turn the insert right-side out so that it cups your breast. Adjust the insert so that it fits properly with no gaps. Hold it in place for 30 seconds or so until the adhesive dries. Repeat with the other breast.
-
Try on a selection of monokinis while you are wearing your breast inserts. The swimsuit should be snug against your skin and inserts, with no gaping. Make sure that the swimsuit completely conceals the insert.

Whether or not you have a romantic evening or weekend planned this year for Valentine’s Day, we think that girls and women everywhere should celebrate the day by loving themselves and giving themselves a little TLC – and if you will be sharing the results of this TLC with your loved one later on, then all the better!
If you ever wondered how Valentine’s Day or Saint Valentine’s Day on February 14th came about – it was named after several early Christian Martyrs all called Valentine and the day was originally a religious day in the Roman Calendar. The day later became associated with romantic love in the days of Chaucer (an English poet and author) when the tradition of courting or courtly love was established. It is traditional on this day for lovers to show their love for each other with cards, flowers and confectionery… and ohh, it’s also traditional for us girls to look our best too.
So whatever you are doing to celebrate Valentine’s weekend, here are some tips to make you look and feel amazing, whether you are simply pampering yourself, you are looking forward to a romantic evening in, or you are out for a fun night – there is something here for everyone!
Give Yourself a Facial
If your skin is feeling a little under the weather after blustery winter days and cold winter nights, treat yourself to a facial. You don’t need to spend a fortune, you can do this at home with some simple, natural ingredients, making facial treatments for dry, ageing or oily skin. While your facial is working why not soak yourself in a hot and bubbly bath, which is even more relaxing – moisturise afterwards whilst your skin is still warm and it will soak up your chosen perfumed lotion – match this with the perfume you will be wearing later to add layers to your scent.
Get A Golden Glow All Over – Even On A Wintry Day
If you are planning to wear an evening or party dress this weekend, a subtle golden glow looks gorgeous. You can go to a spray tanning booth or you can apply at home. If you need some help on self-application there are tips on how to achieve a streak free tan which are easy to follow, which include remembering to wash your hands afterwards – tanned palms can look very odd.
Get Your Own Cupid’s Bow
Nothing says romance like deep, red lipstick, and applying deep berry lipstick to get the perfect cupid’s bow mouth requires a steady hand, but anyone can do it with practice. Sweep your lips with a clear gloss over your lipcolour like Megan Fox. When applying a deep red or pink colour, it’s easier to apply the lipstick first and then line the lips afterwards.
Valentine’s Night Says Exotic Dark Eyes
The Cheryl Cole smoky eye look has just never gone out of style, and smoky eyes are dramatic and mysterious – just perfect for Valentine’s night. The basic smoky eye look can be altered as you wish changing the base colours from greys and charcoals, to blues, dark greens and browns.

Fashion Statement: Scarlett O’Hara

“Scoot up to the attic and get Ma’s old box of dress patterns, Mammy. You’re going to make me a new dress.” —Scarlett O’Hara in Gone with the Wind, which premiered in Atlanta on this day in 1939.
In one of the most iconic costume scenes in film history, Scarlett O’Hara rips the green velvet curtains—or portieres, as Mammy calls them—from the windows to make the ultimate dress, one that will not only trick Rhett Butler into thinking that she isn’t poor but also seduce him, too. RKO costume designer Walter Plunkett read Margaret Mitchell’s book many times before visiting the writer to consult with her on the costumes for the film adaptation. He pointed out that in the book she had described almost every one of Scarlett’s dresses as green—including the one made from curtains. Mitchell replied that green was merely her favorite color, but that director David O. Selznick could dress Scarlett in any colors he pleased. Selznick, ever faithful to the book, put Scarlett in green through most of the film. Plunkett was faithful to history, though, and traveled to old textile mills to find actual patterns from the Civil War–era. He also learned that savvy Atlanta women, intent on looking fashionable despite the Union blockades on fabrics and sewing materials, dyed cotton dresses in butternut and held them together with thorns during the war.
